Fast Drying Silicone Sealant used in the aquarium production

Uses/Applications

1. Sealing joint for aquarium, fish tank, swimming pool and other large glass building project.

2. Excellent adhesive to aluminum, glass, stainless steel, wood, ceramic, porcelain, fiberglass composite, enamel, and wallboard.

Application:

1. Remove dirt, grease, moisture and old caulk. If joint size exceeds 1/2” x12”, use backer rod.

2. Paint area before applying sealant, as silicone is not paint-able;

3. Mask both sides of joint.

4. Cut nozzle to desired bead size. Pierce seal. Load sealant cartridge in caulking gun. Place nozzle into joint and apply sealant into gap. Apply above 27℃.

5. Smooth or “tool” bead if needed. Remove masking tape immediately.

6. Wipe hands and tool thoroughly before washing. Tack free in 20 minutes. Normally cures in 24 hours.

Substrates preparation
 
A. All surface must be clean and dry, degrease and wash off any contaminates that could impair adhesion.
 
B.Certain plastic may require specific surface treatment to obtain optimum adhesion. Such as the polypropylene, which should need chemical corrosion or plasma treatments?
 
 
 
How to apply
 
A. Apply a bead of neutral sealant to one of the prepared surface, and then quickly cover with the other substrate to be bonded.
 
B. On exposure to moisture, the freshly applied material will “skin over” in about 10 to 15 minutes at room temperature and 50% relative humidity. The surface is easily tooled with a spatula.
