The applications of BLDC motors are very wide, and we can find BLDC motors in many electronic devices around, including electric toothbrushes, washing machines, printers, and cars. Brushless DC motors can operate efficiently and safely in these devices.
Brushless DC motors are motors with high reliability, high efficiency and high power-to-size ratio. It has many of the same torque and speed characteristics as brushed DC (BDC) motors, excluding brushes. Technically, it is a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), but it is named brushless DC because it uses a DC power supply to operate using an inverter in a simple commutation method and does not involve brushes. In some cases, the stator windings are constructed to match non-sinusoidal commutation.
