When the stator working winding of a single-phase induction motor passes through sinusoidal alternating current, a pulsating magnetomotive force is generated, which can be regarded as two rotating flux potentials Ff and Fb of equal size, opposite steering and the same speed. If magnetic saturation is not considered, the effect of two rotating magnetomotive forces can be studied separately, and then superimposed to obtain the results of pulsating magnetomotive forces, which is called double rotating magnetic field theory.
